eBay Tickets
Hailstorm OpenSeats RazorGator StubHub.com TicketsNow WeHaveSeats Above, and then again below with details, are listed several online ticket brokers, great resources for finding hard to find tickets to sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows, Las Vegas shows, theater, local events, and more. As a test, we attempted to navigate to Sugar Bowl tickets, then noted how many clicks to navigate there and what was available in italics below each site. Although the results of this "test" were mixed, note that it is not really representative of the quality of the sites themselves. Probably the best thing to do, certainly the most comprehensive, is to click on all of the links, each of which is coded to open in a new window, then look in each for the best deal. Note, if you use a pop-up blocker, hold the "Ctrl" key as you click on each link to allow the new window to open. eBay Tickets is a monster at everything they do, and tickets are no exception. No search for tickets would be complete without a quick perusal of the offerings here. The site is easy to navigate and easy to use. Also check out our most watched eBay ticket auctions page (really cool... check it out) for some really interesting items. In 1 click I was able to view 408 offerings with starting bids as low as $.99 (likely not up to the item's reserve price yet), minimum bids as high as $12,999.99, for 20 suite tickets, but with no bidder, and a highest current bid of $3,050, again for 20 luxury suite tickets . Hailstorm Hailstorm sells hard-to-get tickets to just about every event in the country. Mostly, their inventory consists of Sports, Concert, and Theatre Tickets, but they can get you in to that exclusive art exhibit in LA and that one-man magic show in Vegas too. The tickets they sell are often for events that are considered sold out. When the box office tells you there are no seats available, you can be pretty sure they have them. After all, sometimes watching your team on television or listening to your favorite band on the radio just isn't good enough. Sometimes you need the roar of the crowd and the feel of the applause. You just have to be there. I was not able to figure out how to navigate to Sugar Bowl tickets as the site is organized more by sports teams than events. Even when I did a search for sugar bowl, I could not find tickets, so I gave up. OpenSeats does not say much about itself on its site other than to note they are members of the Better Business Bureau, that they are a private ticket agency and fan-to-fan exchange, and that they are not associated with any team, venue, artist of box office. This site is the more graphics heavy of the bunch, which for me is a bit of a turn off, but for others might be preferable. In 3 clicks I was able to view 304 tickets to the Sugar Bowl ranging in price from $90 to $17,400. RazorGator offers a wide variety of hard to get tickets for sporting events, concerts, theater, local events, and more. Although I can't figure out what the name has to do with their business, their website is quite feisty yet very navigable. In 2 clicks I was able to view about 200 tickets to the Sugar Bowl ranging in price from $135 to $30,478. StubHub.com refers to itself as the leading open marketplace dedicated to tickets, where fans can buy and sell tickets to sporting, concert, theater and other events. The New York times referred to it is "a kind of stock market where the only shares traded are tickets to live events." Their goal is that fans will always find a choice of select tickets at fair market value, even for sold out events. The site connects sellers and buyers through their convenient, secure, and reliable ticket fulfillment service. In 2 clicks I was able to see that tickets were available from $95 to $17,144. In one more click, for a total of 3, I was able to view the (approximately) 185 offerings. Particularly helpful was the small seat map at the top, which gave the choice, with a simple click, of enlarging it at the top of the page or opening it as a separate popup window. Cool, and helpful. TicketsNow claims to list the world's largest online inventory of secondary market ticket, claiming nearly 6 times more than eBay. Apparently, 9 out of 10 professional companies in North America that sell tickets online list their tickets at TicketsNow.com. You will find tickets for virtually every major sporting event and concert on their site. Note they also claim to be the most popular destination for tickets (Source: Media Metrix & Alexa ratings, an Amazon.com company). In 2 clicks I was able to view about 300 tickets to the Sugar Bowl ranging in price from $90 to $17,400. Note that this appears to be the same as OpenSeats, above, and that the highest priced item appeared to be the same, leading me to believe that these two ticket sites are fed by the same database. WeHaveSeats does not say much about itself on its site, but the site speaks for itself. It is a relatively clean website that looks like it would be easy to navigate, although it did not work out well in our search for Sugar Bowl tickets, as noted below. Similar to Hailstorm above, I was not able to figure out how to navigate to Sugar Bowl tickets as the site is organized more by sports teams than events. Even when I did a search for sugar bowl, I could not find tickets, so I gave up. Reference Links: 1 2 3 4 5 6 |
