Tips & Tricks For Promoting Your Sports Related Website
Saturday, August 18, 2007
Following are some useful tips for promoting your sports related website, whether it be about football, baseball, golf, tennis, or even horseshoes.
1. Write original articles and submit them to various publishers relevant to your particular sport or sporting interest. Submit to all you can find. Lots of publishers are looking for relevant content to add to their site. You get valuable backlinks and consequent visitors. 2. Trade links with other sites related to your sports interest. There is plenty of traffic to go around - even some for you!= 3. Get listed in dmoz.org, yahoo.com ($300 a year, and worth it), CategorizedLinks.com, Feynd.com (that's us!), and other prominent online directories. 4. Get listed in sports directories like the one kept by Sport-Blog.com and sites/directories related to your specific sport (if you can can find some) - as many as you can find. This helps search engine algorithms recognize you for what you are, a web site related to a particular sport, while generating relevant traffic. 5. Do something crazy with your sport to get free press. 6. Leave smart comments in blogs, like the one in Sport-Blog.com (search from the main page for a relevant article, then post comments, with backlinks to your site so that people can find the source of your INTELLIGENT contribution). Also load up comments at sites that will allow it (again like the one at Sport-Blog.com) with backlinks to your site. 7. Advertise on Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and MSN. Do them all. Then do it more, and more, and more. Advertising works. And doing it on a pay per click basis allows you to keep the cost as low as you need to. 8. Be persistent and consistent. If you are posting comments at blogs, post them every day. Publishing articles? Do so every day. These will keep your content fresh. |
