eBay Tickets
Hailstorm OpenSeats RazorGator StubHub.com TicketsNow WeHaveSeats Above, and then again below with details, are listed several online ticket brokers, great resources for finding hard to find tickets to sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows, Las Vegas shows, theater, local events, and more. As a test, we attempted to navigate to Sugar Bowl tickets, then noted how many clicks to navigate there and what was available in italics below each site. Although the results of this "test" were mixed, note that it is not really representative of the quality of the sites themselves. Probably the best thing to do, certainly the most comprehensive, is to click on all of the links, each of which is coded to open in a new window, then look in each for the best deal. Note, if you use a pop-up blocker, hold the "Ctrl" key as you click on each link to allow the new window to open. eBay Tickets is a monster at everything they do, and tickets are no exception. No search for tickets would be complete without a quick perusal of the offerings here. The site is easy to navigate and easy to use. Also check out our most watched eBay ticket auctions page (really cool... check it out) for some really interesting items. In 1 click I was able to view 408 offerings with starting bids as low as $.99 (likely not up to the item's reserve price yet), minimum bids as high as $12,999.99, for 20 suite tickets, but with no bidder, and a highest current bid of $3,050, again for 20 luxury suite tickets . Hailstorm Hailstorm sells hard-to-get tickets to just about every event in the country. Mostly, their inventory consists of Sports, Concert, and Theatre Tickets, but they can get you in to that exclusive art exhibit in LA and that one-man magic show in Vegas too. The tickets they sell are often for events that are considered sold out. When the box office tells you there are no seats available, you can be pretty sure they have them. After all, sometimes watching your team on television or listening to your favorite band on the radio just isn't good enough. Sometimes you need the roar of the crowd and the feel of the applause. You just have to be there. I was not able to figure out how to navigate to Sugar Bowl tickets as the site is organized more by sports teams than events. Even when I did a search for sugar bowl, I could not find tickets, so I gave up. OpenSeats does not say much about itself on its site other than to note they are members of the Better Business Bureau, that they are a private ticket agency and fan-to-fan exchange, and that they are not associated with any team, venue, artist of box office. This site is the more graphics heavy of the bunch, which for me is a bit of a turn off, but for others might be preferable. In 3 clicks I was able to view 304 tickets to the Sugar Bowl ranging in price from $90 to $17,400. RazorGator offers a wide variety of hard to get tickets for sporting events, concerts, theater, local events, and more. Although I can't figure out what the name has to do with their business, their website is quite feisty yet very navigable. In 2 clicks I was able to view about 200 tickets to the Sugar Bowl ranging in price from $135 to $30,478. StubHub.com refers to itself as the leading open marketplace dedicated to tickets, where fans can buy and sell tickets to sporting, concert, theater and other events. The New York times referred to it is "a kind of stock market where the only shares traded are tickets to live events." Their goal is that fans will always find a choice of select tickets at fair market value, even for sold out events. The site connects sellers and buyers through their convenient, secure, and reliable ticket fulfillment service. In 2 clicks I was able to see that tickets were available from $95 to $17,144. In one more click, for a total of 3, I was able to view the (approximately) 185 offerings. Particularly helpful was the small seat map at the top, which gave the choice, with a simple click, of enlarging it at the top of the page or opening it as a separate popup window. Cool, and helpful. TicketsNow claims to list the world's largest online inventory of secondary market ticket, claiming nearly 6 times more than eBay. Apparently, 9 out of 10 professional companies in North America that sell tickets online list their tickets at TicketsNow.com. You will find tickets for virtually every major sporting event and concert on their site. Note they also claim to be the most popular destination for tickets (Source: Media Metrix & Alexa ratings, an Amazon.com company). In 2 clicks I was able to view about 300 tickets to the Sugar Bowl ranging in price from $90 to $17,400. Note that this appears to be the same as OpenSeats, above, and that the highest priced item appeared to be the same, leading me to believe that these two ticket sites are fed by the same database. WeHaveSeats does not say much about itself on its site, but the site speaks for itself. It is a relatively clean website that looks like it would be easy to navigate, although it did not work out well in our search for Sugar Bowl tickets, as noted below. Similar to Hailstorm above, I was not able to figure out how to navigate to Sugar Bowl tickets as the site is organized more by sports teams than events. Even when I did a search for sugar bowl, I could not find tickets, so I gave up. Reference Links: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Check Out Feynd.com's Entertainment Links Today Tuesday, December 13, 2005
By Christina VanGinkel
While many people would not think of the Internet as anything but entertainment, to a lot of others, who primarily spend their time online doing work of some sort or another, the entertainment value of this place is secondary. Yet entertainment is by far the largest aspect of the Internet in general. If you read your horoscope, buy a video or music CD, or browse sites that offer information on a hobby, then you are taking advantage of the entertainment value of this wonderful place. Until recently, I thought I used the Internet in a very well rounded fashion, both working, shopping to save money, and occasionally reading my horoscope for strictly entertainment value. Then I discovered Feynd.com, and their Entertainment links., and I can tell you with all honesty that just checking one of the site links each day will lighten your mood, and bring you that needed bit of entertainment that we each need in our lives in these hurried days. For example, they have several links that will take you directly to the homepages of Style, which houses Vogue and W. Head here for all the latest style news and trends, including models, celebrities, party coverage, red carpet watch, top beauty news, and much more. Also, click right to People, Star, and US magazines for even more celebrity news, gossip, and insights. You can also jump right to Classmates, where you can look up old classmates and friends from school. You can let them all know what you have been up to since graduation, by creating your very own profile page and fill it with as much information as you want, and with their convenient message center, it is possible to get into contact even with those individuals that you have no other information on, to help you contact them. The Movies link at Feynd.com will take you directly to all the reviews, the buzz, what is new and upcoming, a screening room, where you can easily view all the top rated trailers, check out what is newly released on DVD. While you are there, be sure to stop by the Critics Corner to what top critics are saying about all the new releases. They also have a convenient feature that lets you pick the title of any current movie, and it will bring you directly to a page with review and if you tell it your zip code, information on theaters in your area that are showing it, complete with movie times. This is a favorite feature of mine, and one you will find yourself going back repeatedly to use. In addition, if all of these features were not enough entertainment value in one spot, they have a Fan Forum where the average moviegoer can stop by to discuss why they loved or hated the last movie they saw. If you like interactive sites, then be sure to check this one out. To satisfy all the horoscope readers online, they have also included a link that will take you directly to a leading horoscope and astrology site, for the latest buzz on what you can expect to happen in the coming days and weeks. (That is if you believe, and with all the millions of people that read their horoscopes faithfully, I know some of you are fans of this daily tidbit as much as I am!) The site also has tarot, numerology, predictions, psychic readings, daily single's love, and many more topics from which to choose. If you are in need of a bit of amusement from all the hours you spend online, be sure to stop by Feynd.com and check out their engaging Entertainment links today! eBay Most Watched Auctions Pages Added To Feynd.com Wednesday, December 07, 2005
