As discussed in an article in the New York Times, Disney will begin showing vintage TV shows on its website. This adds to a list of many media companies either doing the same already or evaluating significant similar initiatives.
Even Michael Eisner, the former CEO of Disney, appears to have entered the foray (Say Hello Disney) with Veoh, a video sharing site, and Vugure, an online show production company. It is interesting to read about what Eisner is doing, which is nicely profiled on Wikipedia. Given these developments, long-time domaineer and web publisher Adapt, Inc. has again started promoting its long held TVvideos.com site. A company spokesman elaborates; "We had interest in TVvideos.com from some of the largest media companies in the world a couple of years ago. None came forward with a substantial bid, however. The largest offer we received was a $10,000 anonymous bid via an online broker." "Call us square for not offering a screwy name like google or kanoodle. I mean, if search.com or find.com would have been readily available, would Brin and Page still have gone with the name Google? Ever since these guys developed a substantial company with a name that is meaningless to most, albeit admitedly quite catchy (understatement of the year), everyone has been trying to out-silly each other." Continuing, "Well, we think the tide is turning, such that a site offering TV videos might actually, God forbid, call itself TVvideos.com." It is an interesting thought. Clearly Adapt is not selling out early; although they may lose this bet and get stuck with just another parked domain in perpetuity. Time will tell. You can make an offer for TVvideos.com at the domain's page at Moniker. WagerWorthy.com Submitted To T.R.A.F.F.I.C.Casino Affiliate Convention Thursday, March 06, 2008
WagerWorthy.com has been submitted to the upcoming T.R.A.F.F.I.C. casino and gaming related auction. When one considers a bet, the question should always be, is it wager worthy? Thus the name WagerWorthy.com is one of the best one could acquire for a gaming related site.
Get it today! Domaineer Adapt, Inc. Sells Domains At T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Wednesday, March 05, 2008
The domaineer and web development company Adapt, Inc. sold the premium domain names GardenSupplyStore.com and MedicalEquipmentStore.com at the recent T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West auction in Las Vegas.
A company spokesman notes, "this continues our process of selling quality domain names that were purchased long ago with the intent of developing them into portals, that in some cases were developed to some degree, but are no longer likely to be developed by Adapt. Frankly, these domains are worth more to others than they are to us." "We have hundred of quality domain names, such as eBobblesHeads.com, TVvideos.com, McPets.com, Die-Casts.com, Efyu.com, Sduf.com, and hundreds more of this caliber. Interest in our domains has been pretty strong, and has come from all quarters." "Nevertheless, we are also buying domains, trying to spot trends, then purchase relevant domains in advance. An example of this is domains such as WeSueRealtors.com. Given the meltdown in residential housing, it would seem that lawsuits against realtors may become a big business. Presumably some lawfirm would be interested in a domain such as this. This is only one of many, many examples, some of which we are ahead of by a short distance, and others which may take years." Expect to see more notable domain sales by Adapt in the near future. A list of their domains can be viewed on their domains for sale page. |
