Clusty - The Wave Of Search Future?

Ever find yourself searching for something only to enter the term in google and get highly popular results, if you are interested in "that meaning" of your search term. For example, if you enter "pearl" as a search term, as you interested in pearls, Pearl Jam, Pearl Harbor, or Daniel Pearl, all of which are relevant results.

Clusty is one of a group of new search engines that groups results by subtopics. So, if you search for "pearl", what is displayed is links to a number of subcategories for that search term.

As this internet gets bigger and bigger, this type of technology seems more relevant. Another potential direction is personalized search, which "gets to know you" by way of account preferences and/or usage paterns, then returns results that are relevant. So, if you are a frequent traveler, a search for "paris" might take you to travel sites. If, on the other hand, you frequent sites of attractive female celebrities, then you might instead find results for Paris Hilton.

Finally, there are other sites under development that attempts to get to know your "group". It follows usage patterns of you and your friends, as you set them up in the account, and then uses this info to generate relevant results.

Whatever the case, the trends for the future appear quite interesting.
